The Shiba Inu (SHIB) meme currency, surged over 35% on Tuesday after US-based crypto exchange Coinbase announced that it will list the token for the professional user base of its platform.
Coinbase has started accepting inbound transfers of Shiba Inu (SHIB) to Coinbase Pro. “Trading will begin on or after 9AM Pacific Time (PT) Thursday, 17 June, if liquidity conditions are met,” the crypto exchange said in a tweet.
Coinbase Pro users will now be able to buy and sell the meme-inspired cryptocurrency from 17 June, following numerous calls from the Shiba Inu community to add it.
Coinbase is the largest U.S. cryptocurrency exchange, with 56 million verified users and $223 billion in assets across its platform.
Reacting to the listing, SHIB jumped more than 35% and was trading between $0.00000680 to $0.00000988 at around 10.45 PM IST. It commanded a market capitalization of around $4 billion and was the 30th biggest cryptocurrency in the world.
