Ilford stabbing: Neighbors heard high-pitched screams before a sudden silence as a baby girl aged one and a three-year-old boy were knifed to death.
A 40-year-old man is now in hospital after being critically injured with stab wounds – with police saying they are not looking for anyone else over the stabbings.
And locals today told of their terror as police stand guard over the scene in Ilford, East London as a murder investigation is launched.
Met Police had rushed to the scene about 5.30 pm on Sunday after reports of a man and two children had been injured at a home.
All three were found suffering knife injuries.
Tragically, the one-year-old girl died at the scene while the little boy, three, died from fatal knife wounds in the hospital.
The 40-year-old man remains in hospital.
Police said it is believed all parties involved are known to each other, with cops not looking for anyone else over the attack.
Thomas Dodds, 78, who lives around 20 yards from the scene, told the news agency he heard a woman screaming for about five minutes before police cars and ambulances arrived.
He said: It sickens me, a young baby and a three-year-old.
Someone who did that doesn’t have a heart, to put a knife into a baby.
A passing nurse who lives on the road said she heard a woman screaming and screaming inside before police arrived and officers went rushing in.
The woman, who declined to give her name, said: After about five minutes they took the woman who was screaming out.
The air ambulance came and that’s when I knew it was serious, that something nasty had happened.
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police confirmed – The toddler was pronounced dead at the scene, while the boy died in the hospital where he was being treated for his injuries.
A 40-year-old man has been taken the hospital for treatment – condition awaits.
Homicide detectives from Specialist Crime are investigating the alleged murders and police are not looking for any other suspects.

London’s Air Ambulance was sent to the stabbings along with three ambulance crews, two medics in fast response cars, an advanced paramedic, and two incident response officers.
