Almost 1 million people sign petition against Islamophobic Australian senator

MELBOURNE – ARY NEWS: Almost over 1 million people have signed an online petition calling for the removal of Islamophobic Senator Fraser Anning from the Australian parliament.

The petition demanded of the Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison and the government to remove senator Fraser Anning from the parliament for using his position to provoke people against the Muslim.

Senator Fraser Anning has no place in the government of our democratic and multicultural country. Within the bounds of Australian law, we request that he be pushed to resign from his position as Senator, reads the petition.

It is pertinent to mention here that Senator Fraser Anning was facing people’s anger and strict reaction on the anti-Muslim statement in Australia. Sources said that he had to face embarrassment at the airport when local people stopped him and chanted slogans against the Islamophobic senator.

They said that he even could not go to public places and avoiding ceremonies to avoid embarrassment and public reaction.

Earlier Islamophobic Australian Senator Fraser Anning who was being strongly castigated for holding Muslim immigration responsible for the New Zealand mosque shootings was egged by a teenager on March 16.

The incident came on the heels of lashing out of Muslims by the Queensland senator, rather than supposed condemnation of the Christchurch mosque attacks in which at least 49 Muslims were killed.

In the viral video, a teenage boy could be seen smashing an egg on the head of Anning as he was speaking at a press conference in Melbourne. The teenager was also filming the scene on his phone as took an aim on top of Anning’s head.
