The terror attack on Chinese Consulate
On Friday 23rd November, an attempt was made to attack the Chinese consular office in Clifton, Karachi. Luckily, the army and law enforcement agencies were able to safeguard the place and put a stop to the potential felony.
As a result of the shooting, two constables and three of the arsonists, wearing suicide jackets, were killed. Two ordinary citizens also lost their lives as the terror attack. Earlier the same day, an explosion and gun fires were also carried out near the consulate.
According to Amir Shaikh, the Karachi Police Chief, the assailants tried to enter the secured area through their bomb-filled car. He stated that the terrorists could not get in because one of them was shot by the police. He added that a shoot-out began between the police and the two attackers and soon they too were killed. Shaikh claimed that all three of them had been assassinated as soon as they attempted to enter the visa section.
As per Dr. Seemi Jamali, a medico-legal officer, the corpses have been moved to Jinnah hospital and their description will soon be disclosed.
Pak Foreign Minister
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi informed that no officer inside the Chinese consulate was harmed. All thanks to the forces who got there on time. He mentioned that their prime concern was to protect the people and that is what the police did. Furthermore, the inquiry has been started to get all the details of the attackers.
According to the reports, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claims responsibility. A pro-India agency, that the attack was their plot. A phone call was received which claimed that the attackers were from BLA. Even their pictures were revealed by the group.
PM Imran Khan
The PM, Imran Khan has commanded that immediate investigations be launched. He believes that the whole thing is a scheme to defame Pakistan and ruin their relations with China.
