ISLAMABAD: There may be changes in various ministries in the central cabinet and PM Imran Khan will announce it as soon the reshuffling is finalized, sources said.
After Asad Umar steps down as finance minister, the prime minister also asked the minister for petroleum.
Fawad Chaudhry has been asked to resign from his post of federal minister for information and broadcasting. Some other ministers have also been moved around in major cabinet changes.
Fawad Chaudhry tweeted the announcement of the changes will be announced by the Prime Minister House soon.
Samaa news reported that the changes would be made in the ministries of finance, petroleum, revenue, commerce, and planning.
According to a notification issued by the Prime Minister House, Fawad Chaudhry has been appointed as the science and technology minister.
Ijaz Ahmed Shah as the interior minister.
Ghulam Sarwar as the aviation minister.
and Sheharyar Afridi as the states and frontier regions minister.
Moreover, Umar Ayub is likely to take over the ministry of finance while Dr. Ishrat Hussain will be the adviser for finance.
Sources also say that Hafeez Sheikh as the special assistant to the Prime Minister on economic affairs.
Firdous Ashiq Awan has been appointed as the special assistant to the Prime Minister on information, and Dr. Zafar Ullah Mirza as the special assistant to the Prime Minister on health.
