KARACHI: Four medical staff member, including a doctor, at a government hospital were said to have been involved in the alleged rape and murder of a female patient who had come seeking help for toothache, Geo News reported on Monday.
A 24-year-old woman Asmat Junejo, had gone to the Sindh Government Hospital in the metropolis’ Korangi, locality seeking medical help for toothache. There, however, a doctor, with the help of three other medical staffs drugged, subdued, and raped her, then poisoned her.
According to reports, the alleged primary suspect has not been arrested yet and declared absconding, whereas three of his accomplices identified as Shahzaib, Amir and Wali Muhammad were detained and presented in a court of the Judicial Magistrate. They were subsequently sent to jail on judicial remand.
Chief Minister of Sindh Murad Ali Shah, took notice of the incident and was reportedly upset with the police. He asked, Tell me which elements are involved in the rape and murder of the patient?
CM Murad Ali Shah, who said the death of a patient suffering from toothache is painful for me, ordered the police to register an (FIR) first information report of rape and murder of Asmat Junejo, the investigation has been started, and report the progress to him.
